For distances greater than 250 metres, blowing steel cables into unoccupied empty pipes can be a good alternative to pulling fibreglass, which is very difficult at these distances. In this technology, the piston and the steel cable attached to it are blown into the conduit pipe using compressed air. Distances of up to 1000 metres can be covered efficiently and quickly, without much effort. During the blowing process, the inner wall of the pipe can be pre-lubricated by adding a lubricating fluid. Thanks to the reduced friction, the subsequent pulling of power or communication cables is much easier. The reduced tensile forces not only save time but also reduce the risk of damage to the cable or culvert/protective pipe.
